The Future of BRAC: A Conversation, March 14, 2018, 9:00AM to 10:00AM.   Featuring Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee; and Christopher Preble, Vice President, Defense and Foreign Policy Studies, Cato Institute; moderated by Joe Gould, Capitol Hill Reporter, Defense News.   Representative Smith and Christopher Preble will discuss the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, including their findings from a new article they are copublishing in Strategic Studies Quarterly about BRAC, its impact on defense communities, and the future.  Click here for more info.   Link to view live online.

Team Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) anticipates hosting the APG Discovery Week Advanced Planning Briefing to Industry (APBI) on April 17-20, 2018, at APG, MD.  The goal of the APG Discovery Week APBI is to provide industry with networking opportunities for both large and small businesses.  The APBI will describe potential future contracting opportunities for mission areas that focus on: Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Research and Development; Test and Evaluation; Chemical and Biological Defense; APG Garrison; and US Army Corps of Engineers - Baltimore District.  The APG Discovery Week APBI will identify potential contracting opportunities that are aligned with the roadmaps of each respective organization, specifically focusing on Fiscal Years 2019-2020.  Specific registration procedures and additional information about APG Discovery Week APBI will be released via amendment to this Feb Biz announcement.  All questions related to this event should be directed to Team APG at usarmy.apg.cecom.mbx.apbi-registration@mail.mil.

From our Nation's Capital, the United States Army proudly presents the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus.  Come hear the musical ambassadors of the Army in a free concert performing a wide-ranging program of marches, overtures, popular music, patriotic selections, and instrumental and vocal solos.  Performance is at the APGFCU at Harford Community College, May 18, 2018 at 7:30 pm.  Admission is FREE, but tickets are required.  Click here to get your tickets.

A Dedication Ceremony and unveiling of the newest Gold Star Families Memorial Monument (GSFMM) will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Concord Point Lighthouse & Park, 700 Concord Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.  WWII Medal of Honor recipient Hershel Woody Williams will be on deck and looks forward to meeting the citizens of Harford County.  This event is FREE, and the public is invited to attend both the ceremony and the reception to follow.  Families welcomed.  Please RSVP here, so that the event planners will have a headcount.
