Veterans Retirement Income In State of Maryland, Message from AUSA APG President:
Maryland currently allows tax deductions of $5,000 from military retirement pay. Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and other Veteran Organizations have been working to amend this MD Tax Law and raise the allowable deduction to 100% over the course of several years. Link to General Assembly Bill HB0362 (which is the same as Senate Bill SB03012). Both the MD House and MD Senate are considering this resolution on Wed, 21 Feb, but to date only 500 MD Resident Veterans have signed a petition. This number is extremely low considering there are 55,000 Military Retirees in Maryland. Please consider adding your support to this initiative by adding your name to the petition.
