ANNUAL ARMY ALLIANCE DINNER MEETING:
The Army Alliance Annual Dinner Meeting will be held June 6, 5:30 to 8:30PM at Water’s Edge Events Center in Belcamp.  Our speakers, listed below, will address “APG’s Role in the Nation’s Pandemic Response.”  Register by May 27 by clicking HERE.

CHANGING FOCUS
Register now for a cohort of the Leader Transition Institute’s virtual veteran transition program, “Changing Focus: Moving From We to Me,” a FREE intensive, interactive, hands-on program designed for service members and their spouses who are within 24 months (either before or after) of transitioning from active duty to the civilian sector, and veterans of any era who want to reset their transition in the virtual arena.  The program is conducted in 24 hours over four days.  A video, the agenda, and registration for upcoming sessions (June/September) is HERE.

CYBERSECURITY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION GRANTS:
Transmosis, a nationally recognized cybersecurity workforce developer, announced it is offering fully subsidized CompTIA cybersecurity training and certification to a select number of Maryland residents in a bid to address the state’s shortage of skilled cybersecurity workers.  Read the Press Release  HERE.  Link to call for Applicants

SUMMER AND FALL GEER SCHOLARSHIPS AT CECIL COLLEGE:
Jumpstart your career with these tuition-free opportunities!
Cecil College is the recipient of a grant from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund intended to support students training for a career or re-entering the workforce. Scholarships are available until funds are depleted. Apply today!  

EVENTS:
NEW:  Harford Community College is offering two one-week sessions of GenCyber Smart Girls Camp for rising 7th, 8th and 9th grade girls interested in cybersecurity.  This no-cost opportunity is targeted toward underrepresented populations in cyber as well as those who may not otherwise be able to afford camp.  Students must meet eligibility requirements.  Completed application must be received by May 13, 2022 for camps being held in July.  For more info, contact Dawn Grissom at 443-412-2364 or dgrissom@harford.edu.
 
NEW:  Harford County Chamber of Commerce’s 45th Annual Military Appreciation Event will be held May 19th at 11AM at Richlin Catering and Event Center.  The theme this year is, “A Look Back, Our Path Forward:  Assessing APG’s Defense Community Through a National Lens.”  Click HERE to view the flyer.  Click HERE to register.

UPDATED:  The Discovery Center at Water’s Edge will present The Magic of Science Fair and Family Festival on June 11 at the TUNE Building at Harford Community College.  This one-day “carnival of science” will feature interactive activities, games and competitions, a petting zoo, drone races, play areas, magic shows, fun science experiments, and much more!  Of special interest will be a "Car Show and Shine” that will feature automobiles from each decade to show the advancement of automotive technology.  Other festivities will include a regional science fair for middle school students, Tech Talks, and food trucks.
